Overview

Nestled in the heart of Livingston, Alabama, Diamond Jim's and Mrs. Donna's Livingston offers a welcoming steakhouse experience that blends Southern charm with hearty, expertly prepared dishes. This venue specializes in classic steaks, with Big Mike's King Cut Ribeye and the traditional Ribeye Steak standing as the stars of the menu. These cuts are noted for their robust flavor and tender texture, reflecting a clear commitment to quality meat and precise seasoning.

The atmosphere carries a genuine country warmth, making it a prime destination for locals and travelers alike seeking a homestyle dining experience with a lively, friendly vibe. The space itself can get busy, especially during peak hours, which speaks volumes about its popularity in the area, though parking might require a bit of patience. With attentive and personable staff, including servers and bartenders who go beyond the expected, visitors often highlight the exceptional service that enhances their meal.

While the steak takes center stage, the menu offers a variety of complementary sides and appetizers that embrace Southern staples. From baked beans and twice-baked potatoes to classic house salads and generous seafood options like fried shrimp and crab claws, the selection caters well to a diverse audience. Guests have also praised the fresh, hand-battered chicken fingers and versatile seafood gumbo, providing options beyond beef to satisfy varying tastes.

Targeted toward families, groups of friends, and even truck drivers passing through, the restaurant’s approachable atmosphere and flexible service make it stand out. One customer emphasized the unique hospitality extended to truck drivers, including rides to and from the establishment, which highlights a mindful approach to guest convenience. This inclusive spirit paired with hearty, well-cooked meals makes Diamond Jim’s a memorable stop for those looking to experience genuine Southern steakhouse culture.

Some regulars suggest minor refinements, like slightly dialing back the salt on certain steaks and adding subtle background music—perhaps soft country or classic rock—to enrich the ambiance without detracting from the casual, welcoming tone. Overall, Diamond Jim's and Mrs. Donna's Livingston remains a solid recommendation for anyone craving a flavorful, comforting meal in a venue that prides itself on good food and great service within Livingston’s dining scene.

Diamond Jim's & Miss Donna's was a great spot! The country feel and lively atmosphere made for a welcoming experience. Our ribeye steak was flavorful, but slightly overcooked to medium-well and a tad too salty. To take it to the next level, a bit less salt would be perfect. That being said, the meat itself was delicious, and the atmosphere was mixed but inclusive. We appreciated the warm welcome!

I am a truck driver, and service is a lost art, but I must say they go above and well beyond!!! Let me explain, I can NOT drink and operate a CMV , I called to ask if th allowed semi trucks, the answer was no( bummer) Olivia said that they would be more than happy to come pick me up and bring me to they're establishment! & drive me back 2 the truck that is paradise for a driver!! Tabitha the bartender was outstanding she's got well above and beyond the normal tip I'm going to recommend this place for any truck driver much less any individual that is in this part of Alabama I will be coming here every time I'm in the area

Wow, what a steak! I’ve had a better salad and baked potato elsewhere. But, you won’t find a better steak anywhere in Alabama. Quality of meat was 10/10 and was cooked & seasoned perfectly. Very reasonably priced as well. Will be back sooner than later!

A very friendly and interactive staff! We had a party of 8 and everyone thought their meal was delicious. An all around great experience! Although we were seated pretty quickly they recommend getting there early.

My twin bro and I hadn’t been back together in Livingston since we were roommates in college there over twenty years ago. He saw this restaurant I think on Facebook and we decided to go down to reminisce and grab a bite to eat on the way back home. The steaks are amazing here and I will say they rival my favorite, Longhorn. Steaks were fresh, tender, and seasoned through and through. I had a 16 oz ribeye and it was cooked perfectly and of good portion size. Baked beans were delicious. Our server Bre, was excellent. She took care of us promptly and was very knowledgeable about the menu and suggestive of things. The place can get a little crowded and parking can get a little congested as well. The steaks are the star here, although my niece had the crab claws and one of my nephews had chicken tenders. This place has a good country atmosphere. Only thing I can suggest is some type of music. Management should look into maybe 80s, country, soft rock, or rhythm and blues music to be played softly as guests eat their food. Just a little suggestion :). Will definitely come back here.

Best steaks in the State of Alabama, and several states bordering it. Forget Big Mike's and drive extra miles to Livingston. Get the menu choice Ribeye and don't tell them how to cook it. It will turn out perfect. They charge extra $3.00 for rare and close to it. Guess it's just not healthy undercooked.

We were passing through and looking for a place to eat. Let me tell you that their food was Amazing. We both ordered steak and I will have to say it was the best steak I have ever ate. Cooked to perfection, tender and mouthwatering. You should not pass by and not stop...it is so worth it.

Great food. Went for lunch. Best baked beans I’ve ever had, Mac-n-cheese was homemade and just right. BBQ and fried chicken were great.
